Stop into either shop with any reference material you may have and speak with an artist about your idea. We require a small deposit to hold the appointment, it’s non-refundable but comes off the price of your tattoo.

All equipment that can’t be sterilized is covered with a single-use, disposable plastic barrier and is changed after each client.

Yes! Wingnut has gift cards available year round in any denomination. Unless otherwise stated, our gift cards can be redeemed at any of our locations for any service or retail purchase. They cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. They are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or used for gratutity.

In the state of Minnesota it is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent.

The best way to communicate with an artists is via email or messenger. You can always stop in and speak with our staff as well. We require a small deposit to hold the appointment, it’s non-refundable but comes off the price of your tattoo.

At Wingnut Tattoo we charge by the hour, $175 is our hourly rate. For a specific tattoo price quote please speak with the artist of your choosing.

Both shops have a shop minimum of $100, with the exception of hands, neck or face, that have a minimum of $100.

Having your tattoo submerged underwater for any length of time will be devasting to your tattoo. Water hitting your tattoo in the shower is fine.

Direct sunlight or tanning should be avoided for at least the first 3-4 weeks after getting your tattoo. After that time, taking precautions to protect your skin and tattoo from the sun is always best.

WITHOUT parental consent you must be 18 years of age or older. WITH parental consent you must be 15 years of age or older. If you’re underage, both you and one of your parents need to provide a valid state or federal-issued photo ID with matching last name AND address (school ID’s are not acceptable). If for some reason either of those things don’t match we need a state/federal issued form explaining the difference (ex: birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce decree) Please note, any of those forms do NOT replace the need for either of the ID’s. Acceptable forms of ID include a valid state ID card, a drivers license, a drivers permit (hard copy) a passport or military ID.

Is your child under 15 and asking to have their ears pierced? Once you’ve both decided you believe the time is right take a look at our guidelines below. If you believe the guidelines can be met then give the location you’d like to visit a call! We will schedule you a consult with a piercer and if our piercer deems it successful they will set an appointment for the piercing for before or after shop hours.

Piercing guidelines for children ages 5 to 15

– The child understands what is going to happen and wants to have their ears pierced

– The child can communicate and interact well with our piercer and staff without coaxing or bribery

– The child feels reasonably comfortable in the shop and isn’t glued to mom or dad

Here is a fine example of the quality of the internally threaded jewelry we carry compared to lower quality externally threaded pieces out there. We pride ourselves on carrying ONLY internally threaded (left side of the photo), as you can clearly see using this provides our clients with far more comfort when their jewelry is inserted, along with a high polished mirror finish on every single piece we carry. We care about our clients and their health so we make sure to take every step necessary to only carry the best.

Typically the jewelry you’ll find in malls and boutiques contains a large amount of nickel. At Wingnut Tattoo we use titanium or solid 14-karat white, yellow, or rose gold, this should prevent your ears from jewelry irritation.
